Luke 9:4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart. 5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. Before His crucifixion, Jesus commissioned His disciples to go out and preach that “the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” They were to go with humble hearts, fully relying on the Lord's provision and care. They would be preaching pilgrims, traveling testifiers of the kingdom of God. To find lodging was not an easy task, though hospitality was common in their day, those who would gladly receive them were not just showing an innate kindness but also revealing that they supported the disciples message.
